Mount French National Park

Mt French is located about 15 minutes outside of Boonah.
Directions: Head South from Boonah towards Rathdowney and turn right at the Dugandan Pub onto Mt French Road and follow it all the way to the top. There are signs from the turnoff. The road ends at the carpark.
Sunset – direct view of sunset all year around with afternoon night off the cliffs
Sunrise – mostly of the reflected colours in the western sky with light on magnificent Main Range.
Tall open forest with low undergrowth which is particularly interesting on a misty morning.
Open heath with wildflowers and great views South and an excellent lookout for Milky Way photos.
There are 2 official walks:
North Cliff Walk (Class 1 – wheelchair accessible) which leads to a fantastic lookout with sweeping vistas from Cunninghams Gap around towards Flinders Peak.
Mee-bor-rum circuit (Class 3) a delightful tour of the Mt French plateau with open forests, rocky outcrops, and heath areas. A variety of birds and insects live here from those attentive enough.
